When comparing to-do apps, I looked for sub-task features, progress indication, kan-ban features and reminders. Another important characteristic requested by users was the ability to organize to-do items by categories, tags or due-dates. Todoist, TickTick and Things are three apps that succeeded at some, or all of these tasks.
